![]() On the machine with Mavericks/Yosemite, take a copy of the existing files/directories in these locations and replace them with those copied from 10.8.5. Put them safe somewhere (Avoid FAT32 formatted USB keys as permissions may be lost - zip them if in doubt) System/Library/Frameworks/amework/Frameworks/amework/PlugIns/Movie.qldisplay System/Library/QuickLook/Movie.qlgenerator On a machine with Mountain Lion installed take a copy of the following two files/directories: It works fine - although you need to redo the steps when you update the OS, and you need access to a machine with 10.8.5 to grab the files. It turns out that the old behaviour can be recovered by "transplanting" the quicklook components that handle quicktime files from a copy of OS X 10.8.5. It is no longer possible to preview DNxHD Quicktimes (and all other QTs in codecs other than Prores ou H264) with the space-bar. Posting a little tip that corrects a little annoyance with Mavericks and Yosemite. Is there a way to manually set all project settings in Avid to specific wishes? The proposition of the assistent editor was to put the file into a pre-fixed option in AVID of 2048 x 1556 and use masks to get rid of the +50 pixels on top and 50 pixels on the bottom.īut this seems to me a wrong approach (plus I prefer to absolutely try to avoid letterbox type of thinking) This seems a bit weird to me, seeing that Nuke, After Effects and equal Editing / image treatment software can modify any size with no problem. The assistent editor told me on the phone that AVID does not have the option of specifying the amount of pixels to work with as a Project setting possibility. I deliver literally 2048 x 1207 (= +50 pixels on top and 50 pixels on the bottom to have my information text visible for check purposes only) The final Image file is suppose to be 2048 x 1107 on 24 ips. Now, to provide the editing department proper files, I find myself with half-half solutions apparently. I am the lead Compositing (2D Animation feature film) that is going to be edited on AVID. I am new to this site and the Avid system in general, but I hope you could provide an answer to my question. My next step is to try a newer OS but I'd rather not if possible. I was able to successfully open 8.8.5 on the iMac but would prefer to remain on a workable version of 7. It has no problem running 7.0.7.Īnother strange wrinkle I've seen is when I try to install earlier versions of 7.0.6 I got the same errors I've pasted above until 7.0.6.2 all the way down to 7.0.5 which give me these errors: My laptop which had the earlier problem running 7.0.6.3 also had it's RAM upgraded from 8gb to 16gb and is on 10.10.5. The error occurs when the progam is starting up with the step "Initializing Hardware" I've got a Mojo DX but the error occurs if it's connected or not. I did recently upgrade the RAM on this system from 16gb to 32gb and haven't opened Avid on it since so it's possible Avid is somehow not recognizing it. From the others on the forum who have experienced it, it usually is an issue with too little RAM but my 32gb should be plenty. The exact same error is present in installations of 7.0.6.3-7.0.7. ![]() My system is a 27 inch i7 3.4ghz iMac mid 2011 32gb RAM running 10.10.5 Now it's rearing it's head again and earlier versions aren't working. ![]() ![]() So this is a problem I've had before and was resolved by installing an earlier version of MC7 in the past. ![]()
